A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 23, at Baca’s Funeral Home on Boutz.

We are very sorry to report that John Moen, President of Mesilla Valley Shotgun Sports, passed away at his home Saturday of natural causes. A celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 23, at Baca’s Funeral Home on Boutz.
The Mesilla Valley Shotgun High School / SCTP started off the year in October. The team started off with some high scores in Skeet with Tyler Smelker (World) score counting with 100, Caleb Delk 92, and Kaleb Massey with a 90. Great way to start the season. High Team in Skeet. We’ll be having targets delivered on October 16, after noon. Any help will be appreciated! Out of respect for John Moen and his family, the skeet shoot and luncheon planned for October 31 has been cancelled. Our 5-Stand field will be open this weekend from 9:00 AM until noon Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3. The Mesilla Valley Shotgun Sports sporting clays field will be open this Saturday, September 18, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM Mesilla Valley Shotgun Sports will open the 5 Stand field this weekend, from 9:00 AM until noon, on Saturday only. If there’s a big turnout, we’ll stay until everyone gets to shoot.
The Night Trap League will continue through the month of September. Each Wednesday Night beginning at 8:00 pm. Contact Rick Richardson at frrichar@gmail.com for details.
