On Wednesday, February 28, MVSS member Tom Greenling will be presented with a handmade quilt by Mesilla Valley Quilts of Honor, to recognize his service in the United States Navy. Info call Preston 586-215-3060 MVSS will open its sporting clays field on Saturday, February 17, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The new procedures will be in place for this shoot. Please review the following and arrive early enough to be at your assigned station by 9:00. As many are aware we lost a founding member of our club a few days before Christmas. Mike Slugaj was a competitive skeet shooter, for the fun of it trap shooter, and just a good guy at the range. One of his proudest accomplishments was the acknowledgment by NSSA of shooting 50,000 registered targets. On [read more] The Wednesday, February 7 club trap shoot was cancelled due to the weather. It is being postponed to Wednesday, February 14 at the same time. Because of the high wind forecast for Saturday, the 5-Stand field will open on Sunday, February 4, instead of Saturday. Hours will still be 9:00AM – Noon. We will be featuring our club trap shoots February 7 with a little different scheduling. Each month’s event will have two shoot dates. The final results for each month will be determined after the second shoot. This is being done in the hopes of attracting more trap shooters. The second shoot will be February 11. Nearly a hundred young shooters from all over New Mexico will participate in skeet, trap (including handicap and doubles), and sporting clays.
