MVSCTP team competed in NMSCHTA High School zone shoot in January shooting best for the year. The team won both Skeet and Trap in January Zone Shoot. Great team effort and many firsts for many of the shooters.
The team started off on cold windy morning shooting skeet at Butterfield. The team highs for the event were Caleb Delk, Tyler Smelker, and Kaleb Massy with all three in the top 5. Very consistent shooting for the Team. Emily Massey shoot high to take second place in Ladies skeet, only behind the winner by 1 bird. Rookie Forest Browning also taking 2nd place in the male intermediate division. Great shooting in Skeet.
Sunday, the team traveled to Hurley for the Trap shoot, but it was a nice calm warm day. Caleb Delk had great day shooting, 96 singles, 98 Handicap, and 91 in doubles. He placed 1st in Handicap for the weekend. Emily Massey shot her best scores in trap with a 94 singles, 94 Handicap, and 77 doubles, which allowed her to be HOA Ladies in Trap. Emily was second in singles trap and first in handicap. Great job Emily. Josiah Martinez is new member this year, shooting several 25’s in trap, he was great asset to the team this month.
Great month of shooting and plan to continue next month for zone shoot in February.
